Today our topic is about gravitational pull and we are going to solve the question ‘why do objects with different masses fall in the same time?’ , Before moving to the topic we must know about mass, Many already know about this but anyhow I wanna say it. Mass is the matter contained in a body. For example: A iron ball and a hollow ball , here the iron ball has more mass not because it has more pull towards earth, but it has more matter contained in it or more volume or more density or more thickness in it than the hollow ball, it is that simple to understand mass and do not forget that mass and weight are different from each other, Weight is the force of gravity on an objects mass and many actually misunderstand their units, The unit of mass is kilogram and the unit of weight is the unit of force which is newton which is the force needed accelerate a 1kg body to an acceleration of 1 meter per second. Moving to our topic, first we must understand that a heavier object needs more energy than a less heavier object, I mean we need to put more work to a heavier object than a less massive object to eventually move to a particular distance (or) say 10m. By this statement we can say that even the earth needs to put more energy or work to move it towards itself, that’s what is happening in reality too. Let me explain it in a more expanded way, There is a famous equation F=MA, Where ‘F’ is the force, ‘M’ is the mass converted to energy and ‘A’ is the acceleration of that body. We know that earth pulls all objects in different acceleration I different places, but let us take it as 9.8 meters/sec in average, By this we can say that earth makes the objects to move in the acceleration of 9.8m/s, And by the equation F=MA we can say that earth pulls different objects with different masses with different magnitude of force, To be more précised if the acceleration A is 9.8m/s and mass M is say 10kg then the force the object is pulled by the earth or the weight of the object is 98N. So by this we can say that every object is pulled by earth with different magnitude of force, To make them to move in the same acceleration (9.8m/s) and eventually make then to fall in the ground at the same time.
